This cookbook is produced in support of the Lafayette Musuem, and was first printed over a generation ago. Some of the recipes reflect a time when we had neither the convenience of food processors nor prepared fresh seafood. Mindful of the museum's commitment to preserving memontos of the past, the recipes, contributed by some of Lafayette's oldest families, have been retained in their original form. The reader will adapt present-day methods when applicable. This affords a glimpse of the past, together with renewed appreciation of present conveniences.
