This beautiful cookbook was published by the Shadows Service League to help honor and preserve The-Shadows-On-The-Teche antebellum plantation home which is located in the heart of Louisiana's Acadiana cajun country. The Shadows-on-the-Teche was built in 1834 by David Weeks and has served as the home for four generations of the Weeks' family. In 1961, this plantation manor was opened as a historic house museum of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Included in this beautiful cookbook are hundreds of delicious, traditional cajun and creole recipes handed down in families from generation to generation. Each section of the book is divided by a beautiful black and white photo and description of various scenes from the plantation and surrounding countryside. This book makes a wonderful addition to any home.
